As members of Northwest Community Credit Union, you are intimately familiar with the credit union difference. We are proud to be a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative that’s committed to you, your fellow members, and the communities we serve.

That said, it’s always important for us to advocate for the viability, strength, and impact of credit unions – and members like you. Recently, a team from Northwest Community Credit Union and TwinStar was in Washington, D.C. at the Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), which is the largest annual credit union advocacy event. They were joined by thousands of fellow credit union colleagues from across the country.

Representing NWCU and TwinStar were Jeff Kennedy (CEO), Richard Leung & Gayla Gjertsen (Board Directors), Ken Myhra (Chief Digital & Product Officer), Alan Pitcher (Chief Information Officer), and Ashley Lax (Director of DEI and Development).

During the week-long event, our team was part of a collaborative push for more legislation that would positively impact credit unions and their members. In doing so, they also re-affirmed the right of credit unions to exist and their staying power.

A major highlight of the GAC was hill hikes, which provided credit union representatives with an opportunity to speak to U.S. lawmakers, including representatives from Washington and Oregon, about the importance and impact of credit unions.

The event also provided our team with a chance to learn about solutions that can help us make your financial life better. Staying up to date on the industry enables NWCU to continually deliver innovative products and services that help you achieve your financial goals. It’s important to us that you have digital-first products that make things easier and quicker.

As always, we want to thank you for being a member of Northwest Community Credit Union. Your continued support drives us to make a difference in the lives of our members and our communities.
