How to Apply for NWCU's Industrial Hemp Program

Northwest Community Credit Union has been providing banking services to ODA-licensed Hemp and hemp-adjacent businesses since 2017. We serve growers, dryers, consultants, custom farmers, retailers, and others. We understand the difficulties you face with obtaining financial services and is here to help.

Please note that we're currently unable to provide deposit services to:

  • Extractors
  • OLCC-licensed businesses
  • Businesses with foreign ownership
  • Businesses based outside our field of membership and/or outside the state of Oregon.

All businesses must be compliant with the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018.

Required Documents for Your Industrial Help Program Application

We'll need business formation paperwork (as applicable).

Corporations:

  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Bylaws and any amendments
  • Oregon Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp License
  • Copy of ODA Hemp License Application

Limited Liability Companies (LLCs):

  • Articles of Organization
  • Operating Agreement and any amendments
  • Oregon Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp License
  • Copy of ODA Hemp License Application

Partnerships:

  • Partnership Agreement
  • Oregon Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp License
  • Copy of ODA Hemp License Application

CBD Retailers:

  • Copy of test results for CBD products (other than smokable flower)
  • Oregon Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp License
  • Copy of ODA Hemp License Application

ODA Growers:

  • Copy of most recent test results for hemp plans and biomass (as applicable)
  • Oregon Department of Agriculture Industrial Hemp License
  • Copy of ODA Hemp License Application

If you are a Hemp Handler or Processor (other than extraction), we may require additional documents depending on your business model.

Please contact us if you have ownership in a marijuana-related business.

How to Apply for NWCU's Industrial Hemp Program

Note that there is NO application fee for an NWCU IHP application. There is a monthly fee for services. Please be sure to speak to a representative regarding the monthly fee.

If you'd like to apply electronically, fill out our online interest form and we'll email you a link to apply within 24 hours.

Paper Applications

You can pick up a copy of paper application for the Industrial Hemp Program at a local branch by making an an appointment. Return the completed application to a branch or you can mail it in.

What to Expect After Submitting your Industrial Hemp Program Application

Once you've applied, your application will be in a processing queue.

Please note that incomplete information can cause a delay in processing--the sooner you get all your application and required documents in, the sooner we can process. We may require additional items and will inform you of any additional items needed.

Make sure you retain copies of the information we've requested for your records.
