On-Line Banking – Safe and Secure
Our security features safeguard your confidential information by helping protect against Internet hacker attacks, such as "brute force attacks," "phishing" and "pharming" scams, and more.
The security features of On-Line Banking and how they work:
- Random Security Code
When you log in, you will need to retype a string of letters and numbers shown in
a protected picture. Only a human can read this picture, so it safeguards against
computer programs known as "bots" which attempt to guess passwords and break into
accounts.
- Security Key
You can choose to enter a unique, confidential security key word or phrase on your Member
Info page. Every time you log in, you'll see your security key displayed on every page
of our On-Line Banking site--only you can see this code word or phrase, and it provides
you assurance that you’re looking at our official site.
- Authentication questions
When you set up your On-Line Banking account, you will be asked to set up three
questions that only you know the answer to. These questions are a checkpoint to
make sure you really are who you say you are and to help keep unauthorized visitors
out. Since these questions are chosen randomly from a list that you create, it's far
more difficult for an intruder to get through.
- Session Timeout
You can set a time period after which you will automatically be logged out should
your computer be left idle. We especially recommended this for members who use a
shared computer.
- Turn Off Member Information
This allows you to hide confidential information such as your member number or
social security number which might otherwise be displayed on the Member Info page.
By simply clicking the "Turn Off" button, the data will no longer display on the screen.
Tips for keeping your On-Line Banking secure
- Don’t give anyone your PIN.
- Don’t write down your PIN.
- Notify us immediately if you notice any unusual account activity (call or visit
any branch)
- Keep all documents and account information in a secure location, including ATM
receipts and monthly account statements—if you're through with a receipt, be sure
to shred it rather than leaving it in the trash.
- Keep your "Session Timeout" short.
