Quick guide to Account Alerts

Examples of useful Account Alerts

Here are some useful Account Alerts and the fields and settings you can use to build them:


Get your account balance every day

This alert will let you know what your current account balance is, as of the time it is sent.  You’ll receive it once a day.

  1. Select Category – Select Savings and Checking Balances
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select Balance or Available Balance
  4. Conditions – Select Is above
  5. Amount – Enter 0.00

Be notified when your balance falls below a certain amount

This alert will be sent within an hour of when your account balance falls below the amount you specified.

  1. Select Category – Select  Savings and Checking Balances
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select Balance or Available Balance
  4. Conditions – Select Is below
  5. Amount – Enter the balance amount desired.  For example, 200.00

Be notified if there is an ATM transaction on your account

This alert will be sent within an hour of the first ATM transaction that day, no matter what type of transaction it is.  If you wish to know only about ATM withdrawals on your account, Enter WITHDRAW ATM in the Matching Description box instead.

  1. Select Category – Select Account Transactions
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select When a transaction description contains
  4. Matching Description – Enter ATM

Be notified when a specific check has cleared

This alert will be sent within an hour of when the specified check you’ve written has cleared your account

  1. Select Category – Select Checks Cleared
  2. Select Account – Only your checking account will be available from the list
  3. Check Number – Enter the number of the check
  4. Tell me when – Check has cleared is the only option available

Be notified when your paycheck, Social Security check or other monthly deposit has been made

This alert will be sent within an hour of the deposit transaction whose description you’ve specified.

Before you start: Look in your on-line account history at the last time your monthly paycheck, Social Security check, or other monthly deposit was made, and see what the transaction description says.  Write it down exactly as it appears, including all spaces.  Enter the first line of text for this transaction description in the “Matching Description” box, exactly as it appears in your on-line account history.  Do not include the numbers at the end of the transaction description.  This ensures that each time this type of transaction occurs, you’ll be notified.

  1. Select Category – Select Account Transactions
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select When a transaction description contains
  4. Matching Description – Enter the first line of the transaction description

Be notified when a transfer has occurred to or from your account

This alert will be sent within an hour of the first transfer to or from your account that day.

  1. Select Category – Select Account Transactions
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select When a transaction description contains
  4. Matching Description – Enter TRANSFER

Know when a purchase has been made using your debit card

Before you start, please note: Since there are two methods of making purchases with a debit card, you’ll need to set up two separate alerts, one for each type, if you wish to monitor all debit card purchases.

For Purchases made using a PIN Alert for PIN purchases:

This alert will be sent within an hour of the first purchase made using your debit card and a PIN that day.

  1. Select Category – Select Account Transactions
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select When a transaction description contains
  4. Matching Description – Enter WITHDRAW POS

For Purchases not requiring a PIN

This alert will be sent within an hour of the first debit card purchase made that day that does not require a PIN.

  1. Select Category – Select Account Transactions
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select When a transaction description contains
  4. Matching Description – Enter PURCHASE

Know when the available balance on your credit has fallen below a specified amount

This alert will be sent within an hour of when your available credit falls below the amount you specified.

  1. Select Category – Select Loan Accounts
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select Available Balance
  4. Conditions – Select Is below
  5. Amount – Enter the balance amount desired.  For example, 200.00

Be notified if there is a fee assessed to your account

This alert will let you know within an hour of the first fee assessed that day, no matter what type of fee it is.

  1. Select Category – Select Account Transactions
  2. Select Account – Select the account from the list
  3. Alert me when – Select When a transaction description contains
  4. Matching Description – Enter FEE

Send a reminder to yourself about anything

This alert will be sent during the date you’ve specified.

  1. Select Category – Select Reminders
  2. Set Reminder Date – Select the date on which you want to receive the reminder.  (It’s usually a good idea to set the date one day ahead of the event, since your reminder could arrive anytime during the day.)
  3. Reminder text – Enter any text you wish to write, e.g., “Claire’s birthday tomorrow.”
