Northwest Community Credit Union Statement of Commitment
Commitment to the Credit Union Movement and other Cooperative Activities
Northwest Community Credit Union works to build and strengthen our unique credit union movement by providing financial and in-kind resources to others within the credit union community, and by actively advocating the credit union difference at all levels of government and in other appropriate public forums.
Activities that Support the Credit Union Movement
- Credit Union National
Association Governmental Affairs Conference
Our Board members and our management team go to Hike the Hill in Washington DC and
the Credit Union National Association Governmental Affairs Conference.
- State Capital Legislative Sessions
We attend our state capital legislative sessions to educate our elected officials
about credit unions.
- Education Assistance Programs
Continuing educational opportunities for employees to further their careers in the
credit union movement.
- Ties with Representatives of our Government
Our Board and staff create and maintain regular ties with representatives at all
levels of government.
- Credit Union Executive Society
We are members of Credit Union Executive Society and regularly attend their
educational functions; a member of Senior Management is on the Washington/Oregon CUES
Council.
- Helping to pass supportive legislation
The board and management are instrumental in helping to pass legislation that supports
the credit union difference, such as Public Funds, CURIA, and Bankruptcy reform.
- Development of unique loan participation programs
Management takes an active role in developing unique loan participation programs
with limited recourse to control asset growth, limit interest and credit risk, and
benefit the entire credit union industry.
